Literacy is for everyone
Intellectual Property Awareness Basics Central (IPABC)
Everyone needs to know why intellectual property matters more today, but good information is difficult to find.
IP Awareness Basic Central (IPABC) makes it easy and interesting to get the basic IP information people need to function in the knowledge economy.
IPABC can be used effectively by educators, students, creators and entrepreneurs, as well as professionals. No prior IP background is necessary.
Fostering New Ideas
Protecting inventions and creations of the mind is critical to fostering innovation, creative expression and commerce.
Without clear intellectual property rights it would be impossible to reap the full benefits of new ideas and there would be less incentive to conduct research and development.
A Fundamental Right
Intellectual property protection for inventions and authored works is a fundamental right provided in the United States Constitution (Art 1, Sect 8):
"To promote the progress of science and useful arts, by securing for limited times to authors and inventors the exclusive right to their respective writings and discoveries."
IP affects everyone.
